30 Days of Poetry 2014

April is National Poetry Month, a monthlong celebration of all things poetry. Started in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets, the month is designed to "band [poets] together to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture."

Very well. Then let's do our part.

In the month of April, The New Poet will publish the work of one poet every day, from April 1 through April 30. Let's help make poetry a part of our daily habits ... among the many others.

  • This submission period is open to any and all poets.
  • Please submit only once; multiple submissions will be deleted.
  • This submission period is open until the 30 days have been filled, so there's no time like the present to submit!
  • Poems must be previously unpublished.
  • In one Word document, send up to three poems (max.) along with a cover letter and a brief bio using this link.

Have a question? Post it below or send me an email at tnpjournal@gmail.com.

Thanks so much, stay warm, and let's get ready for April!
